Specialty Coffee from Los Yungas. Grown in the shade of the forest, “Café La Senda Verde” is cultivated in the pictorial soaring Andes mountainsides of Coroico in los Yungas (Bolivia-South America).

This exceptional high altitude organic coffee grown at 4600 to 6000 feet above sea level provides the livelihood for the Montano family and is produced in total harmony with nature thanks to their love and care, dedication and commitment. The fields where this coffee originates use shade trees and sustainable ecological agriculture methods, and delivers spectacular all-Typica beautifully aromatic, juicy, savory specialty coffee. The coffee is typically hand-picked and washed, and sun dried in order to ensure quality and sustainability. The coffee then makes its way up the famously well-known “World’s Most Dangerous Road” from Coroico to the city of La Paz. What's Special About Specialty Coffee? The term "specialty coffee" refers to the highest-quality green coffee beans roasted to their greatest flavor potential by true craftspeople and then properly brewed to well-established standards. Specialty coffee is not defined by a brewing method, such as the use of an espresso machine.

Ecotourism Resort The definition of specialty coffee begins at the origin of coffee, the planting of a particular varietal into a particular growing region of the world. But the definition cannot stop there. The concept of specialty includes the care given to the plant through harvest and preparation for export. Specialty coffee in the green bean phase can be defined as a coffee that has no defects and has a distinctive character in the cup. It is not only that the coffee doesn't taste bad; to be considered specialty it must be notably good.
